What: What is Startup Culture? How do you define it? Do companies that are successful have something in common about their culture? What constitutes the culture of the organization? Although culture is seen as important, most founders struggle to define what it is for their company. Why is it important to establish it early on?

The event check-in will start at 5.30 pm, Speaker session starts promptly at 6pm, followed by a networking session at 7.00 pm for entrepreneurs, investors, advisors and everyone interested in the startup community.

Who: Sanjay Parthasarthy;

Sanjay is working on a startup called Indix. He was at Microsoft for 19 years. My last role was as corporate VP of the Startup Business Accelerator, a new division he created. He was corporate VP of Developer & Platform Evangelism from 2000 to 2007. I built D&PE from 0 to over 1,500 people worldwide and grew Microsoft’s developer tools business from $500 m to $1 billion. Along the way we launched .NET. He was Regional Director, Microsoft South Asia from 1996 to 1998 and directed Bill Gates’ first trip to India in 1997. This hugely successful visit led to a massive expansion of Microsoft’s investments in India and had a catalytic effect on the Indian software industry. He has run microsoft.com and the Internet security product unit. He started out at Microsoft on Windows multimedia and Interactive TV. He has a master’s in engineering from MIT, a master’s in management from MIT Sloan School and a bachelor’s in mechanical engineering from College of Engineering, Chennai. He is on the Executive Board of the MIT Sloan School.
