Big Fish Games has announced the launch of My Big Fish Games (TM) (http://my.bigfishgames.com), a premiere destination for casual games players to create a personal space to write reviews, share favorite games with friends, and earn cash rewards.
“Our rewards program is a first for the casual games industry and a win-win for both players and Big Fish Games,” said Paul Thelen, CEO, Big Fish Games. “Our customers are our biggest advocates — now they’ll be generously rewarded for simply sharing something they love with their friends. This is a chance for them to earn a second income doing something they already spend time on and are extremely passionate about.”
My Big Fish Games (http://my.bigfishgames.com) is free to join. Game players receive lifetime cash rewards when they refer a friend to their personal Game Space at My Big Fish Games. When a friend makes a purchase, either immediately or at a future date, the player who referred the friend receives 25 percent of the purchase price. If their friends also join My Big Fish Games and create their own Game Spaces, the initial referrer will receive 25 percent of their friends’ purchases plus 25 percent of the commissions their friends earn from their own game spaces. This will create a self-sustaining network effect of friends referring friends, referring friends, and so on.
“This program is about giving back to our customers. A staggering 97 percent have said they would recommend our games to their friends, and 89 percent would get their own Game Space if offered,” said Ken Wells, vice president of marketing, Big Fish Games. “And when friends invite friends, the rewards can really become substantial. There are no costs, no risk, no pressure. This rewards our customers’ loyalty and is a win-win situation.”
“Imagine getting paid — very well paid — for doing what you already do and really, really enjoy doing. Powerful concept. And that power is about to explode on the Internet with the dynamic marriage of the online leader in casual gaming, Big Fish Games, and ‘the most remarkable form of free enterprise ever created,’ network marketing,” said John Milton Fogg, network marketing industry expert and author of the million-selling classic “The Greatest Networker in the World.” “Rewarding people for playing games and turning their friends on (which they’re all doing now). No cost to join. No strings. Get paid on all future purchases, too. THIS is a billion dollar idea!”
During the initial launch period, players will be able to redeem their rewards for cash, but starting in October, they will have the option to donate their cash rewards to charity or receive double rewards when applied towards the purchase of a game from the Big Fish Games site. For players who love to buy casual games, the double rewards system is very powerful, giving them essentially a commission rate of 50 percent instead of 25 percent. The initial list of participating charities will include International Committee of the Red Cross, Susan G. Komen Foundation, The National Domestic Violence Hotline, American Heart Association, and local charities in the Pacific Northwest.
