What can you do if your appraisal of your home’s value differs from the world according to Zillow? Starting today, raise your voice. Locally-based Zillow will release new features this morning that will allow homeowners to contribute updated and detailed information about their own homes to augment Zillow’s national database.
Owner furnished information will appear on an information page adjacent to the Zillow gathered information. Additional information on valuation or home improvements can be included allowing Zillow to factor in that information when calculating an updated estimate of the home’s value. Zillow will attempt to authenticate a home’s owner before adding any information. Users must complete a verification process to claim the home is indeed theirs.
Zillow has raised a mind-expanding $57 million in venture funding to date, and is currently in a co-venture with Yahoo Real Estate.
